Initial preparation

Remove the plastic insulating strip from the battery compartment before first use.
The device comes with batteries installed and will power on after removing the strip.
Allow the thermometer to acclimatize to the room where you’ll use it for at least ~30 minutes.

Setting up

Power on by pressing the power button (~1 second). A self-test runs with all segments displayed momentarily. Two beeps indicate readiness.
On first use or after battery change, you’ll be prompted to set: language, volume (speaker), temperature unit (°C/°F), date & time.
To toggle the voice output on/off: switch the device on, then press the Set button; the speaker symbol shows status.
